Welcome to Curio Travel—where curiosity meets adventure, and travel becomes an extraordinary experience!
I’m Jeanne, one of the travel designers at Curio Travel and a seasoned explorer whose path to wanderlust was anything but conventional.
With an undergraduate degree in Studio Art (minoring in Mathematics and Art History—yes, numbers and narratives can be a creative duo), followed by an MFA in Drawing and Painting, and an MBA in Business Management, my background is as eclectic as the trips I craft.
Before I fell head over heels for travel, I was knee-deep in the world of construction. I started as a Project Manager at a general construction company, launched my own venture, and even oversaw more than 3,000 public housing units for a major East Coast city. But while I was busy building structures, my heart was constructing dreams of far-off places.
My love for travel truly took flight—quite literally—when I met a Kiwi – ultimately to be my husband – on a flight to Auckland, New Zealand. That serendipitous encounter eventually led us to settle in central New Hampshire, where I taught Critical Thinking and Art History at a private 2-year college. It wasn’t long before I traded textbooks for tailor-made itineraries, specializing in custom trips to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, with my own travel agency.
I’ve journeyed through every nook and cranny of Australia’s 6 states and 2 territories, and traveled from the very southern tip of New Zealand to its northernmost point by car, bus, plane, and boat—making incredible connections along the way.
Fifteen years later, and unwilling to shovel more snow (especially in May!), I found a milder climate in Coastal North Carolina and launched Curio Travel for those who crave more than a cookie-cutter vacation. After perfecting trips Down Under, I expanded my focus to European river boats, small ship cruises, and escorted premium group tours to offer hassle-free adventures.
I welcome your inquiries and am eager to share my experiences as we explore the world together—one exciting discovery at a time.
PS: You won’t find selfies of me in exotic destinations cluttering the internet. Instead, I prefer to showcase my clients’ photos taken during the stunning journeys we created together.
